Continental Steel will be installing 2,365 solar panels at its headquarters and warehouse, located at 100 Gul Circle.

The solar panels will be installed by Q2 2023 and will sit atop of the building’s roof. When complete, the system will supply more than enough power to cover the facility’s energy needs.

The solar energy that will be generated at 100 Gul Circle translates to a reduction of 741 tons of carbon emissions annually which is equivalent to about 9,496 trees planted.

With the addition of these solar panels, the building will have minimal ongoing power costs and can qualify as a net zero energy building.

Excess solar energy produced will be injected into the Singapore power grid.

Besides solar energy, Continental Steel recently replaced the existing lighting system consisting of energy inefficient fluorescent lights with energy efficient LED lighting. This will result in a major reduction in energy consumption for the lighting system, presenting a valuable opportunity to improve building energy efficiency and lowering carbon footprint.

The company also installed EV charging points to help enhance its sustainability efforts.
