Continental Steel’s Solar Photovoltaic (“PV”) System at 100 Gul Circle was commissioned on 2 March 2023 after receiving approval from the Energy Market Authority of Singapore.
The Solar PV System installed by EDPR APAC consists of 2,232 panels and has a total solar generating capacity of 1,339 kWp.
Directly owned by Continental Steel, the Solar PV system will generate solar energy far in excess of the current requirements at 100 Gul Circle, with the surplus being sold back to the national grid.
In addition to achieving positive energy contribution, Continental Steel’s facility at 100 Gul Circle will qualify for Renewable Energy Certificates (“RECs”) due to the renewable energy source.
Together with the facility-wide replacement of energy efficient LED lighting and installation of Electric Vehicle charging points in the second half of 2022, Continental Steel continues to make inroads on its sustainability journey.
