Continental Steel Executive Director Melvin Soh was quoted in an article in Business Times on 26 September 2022, on what can be done to lift Singapore professional golf players’ standards and rankings.

He remarked, “Golf is readily enjoyed by many members of my industry. We spend thousands of dollars supporting corporate golf, charities and giving away scholarships. These might or might not be put to direct use yearly. I thought that some of this money might be better spent supporting professionals in a sport that my industry and I like.”

He also announced that Continental Steel will offer prize money for 7 pros in the upcoming Steel Challenge Trophy event and intends to hold new pro-golf events in the coming years.
